Buganda Kingdom Explores Modern Farming in Kenya

A delegation of 81 people from Buganda Kingdom, led by Minister of Agriculture Hajj Amisi Kakomo, embarked on a two-day agricultural study tour in Kenya. Organized by Kabaka Foundation under its DREEM Project, the tour aims to promote environmental conservation and empower people with modern farming technologies.

The group visited wildlife conservation centers and pastoral farms, learning about innovative farming practices. Minister Kakomo urged participants to apply the acquired knowledge to improve their lives and contribute to Ssaabasajja Kabaka’s initiative to revive agriculture.

Rt. Rev Bishop Henry Katumba Tamale praised Buganda Kingdom’s efforts in modernizing agriculture, emphasizing its crucial role in the economy. Omukungu Edward Kaggwa Ndagala encouraged Kabaka’s subjects to harness their potential to end poverty by utilizing available resources.

Hon. Medard Lubega Ssegona highlighted the government’s commitment to supporting agriculture and securing markets for farmers’ produce.

This study tour is part of Kabaka Foundation’s partnership with Heifer International Uganda, funded by Mott Foundation of America, to equip Kabaka’s subjects with modern farming skills.
